As a registered Chiropodist in Ontario, I provide safe, in-clinic minor surgical procedures for conditions affecting the skin, nails, and soft tissues of the foot. All procedures are performed using sterile technique and local anesthesia where appropriate, in accordance with the standards set by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
Chronic or painful ingrown toenails can be treated with a minor surgical procedure performed under local anesthesia.
Procedures include:
Partial nail removal (removal of the ingrown edge)
Total nail removal (if necessary)
Chemical mastoidectomy to prevent regrowth of the problematic portion
This procedure provides long-term relief and is performed comfortably in-clinic.
For stubborn or painful plantar warts that have not responded to conservative treatment, minor surgical options may be available.
Treatment options may include:
Needling procedures
Surgical removal (where appropriate)
Other advanced wart management techniques
Minor procedures for certain benign soft tissue lesions of the foot may be performed, including:
Removal of small skin lesions (within scope)
Treatment of persistent callus-related complications
Drainage of localized abscesses (when clinically appropriate)
Injection therapy may be used to treat:
Morton’s neuroma
Plantar fasciitis
Bursitis
Localized inflammation
Injections may include local anesthetic and/or approved anti-inflammatory medications.
For patients with:
Diabetic foot ulcers
Pressure wounds
Chronic skin breakdown
Advanced wound care and surgical debridement (removal of non-viable tissue) may be provided to promote healing and prevent complications.
As a Chiropodist in Ontario, surgical care is limited to soft tissue procedures of the foot. Bone surgeries such as bunion correction or hammer toe correction are performed by orthopedic surgeons.
